a 2nd car question for fellow allroad lovers
so I've got my 04 and love it, but alas it's the only car my wife and I needed until now (commuter train) I'm faced with needing a second car and I've got no idea what to get
I need something better on gas, hopefully with nav, and hopefully with awd, but also around 35k...
strictly new speaking (just for reference, not because I'll only buy new) that leaves me with an A4 2.0, an IS 250, and a G35, the latter two have many more options at that price level and well... I'm leaning toward one or the other, actually leaning toward the g35 the most part
anybody have any suggestions or opinions to sway mine?

My wife drives a g35 (not an x) and loves it. Very fast and I think a better deal than an a4. The car gets about 21.5mpg combined.

I would buy a Saab 9-5 aero in that range...
Great bang for your buck. With incentives you would be in low 30s and it has navigation. Its a real sleeper (250 hp) that can be cheaply modded, and gets great gas mileage (high 20s). I had one and it was one of my favorite cars of all time. Very comfortable too with one of the best HK sound system available stock.

Yes the 9-5 -- The MSRPs are way bloated...
GM offers huge incentives. These cars can be had at invoice or less - often with $5000 in incentives off the invoice price...Especially this time of year. The Saab is a complete steal. I have gotten some great deals. Its really the only other car I buy aside from Audi.
Checkout Saabnet.com boards for the 9-5 to get latest incentive deals. There is a dealer on the board (you can email me and I will tell you who he is) and he can get you all the incentive info. Saab does not often publish the real incentives. The discounts are a little known fact among Saab enthusiasts.
I drove all the cars you mentioned because I like cars and there is no question if I wasn't in my allroad I would be driving a Saab 9-5. Not just because its a bargain, but because its fast and unique. It also one of the few sedans that comes in a 5spd. The automatic is also very responsive.
