Default All exterior lights on (but not switched on) = Now dead battery come this morning

Last night I happened to look outside and noticed that my brake lights were on as well as my running lights (not xenons). Odd. So I went outside, pressed the unlock button, nothing. Unlock the car with the key, no interior lights. However the warning triangle was on solid, and the turn signals were both lit solid. Started the car up to see if it had killed the battery. The car started immediately. All the lights went out but there still was no interior light. I let the car run for a bit and turned it off. Car still would not lock wit the remote, but the lights were off. I wanted to go to bed and look at it this morning.

Went out to get the paper this morning, hoping for the best. Lights are all on dimly now, so I know what to expect. Open the door, there is a constant buzzing sound and a blinking from the warning triangle. Car of course won't start now.

Seems like a high voltage drain/short (it did pour yesterday). Or is this the signal relay problem?

Help!

Default That is what I'm hoping...

I think that the rain was coincidental. I don't see any signs of water intrusion anywhere.

Down side is that most likely a Pep Boys/Advance won't have that part, so I'll be missing work tomorrow.

Battery now reads 7.54 volts. Probably need a new battery as well.

Default Yep. Pulled relay, lights are out, battery charging. thx!

Just hope that the dealer has it in stock. I guess I can just pop the plug whenever I get to my destination.

Default Negative... Relay replaced, all lights on again <sigh>

at least I have a charge now that I can see if there are any DTC's. Guessing that it is the stalk, but I might as well scan it.

About to install Fusion on my Mac as I haven't had to pull codes since I went to purely Mac. If anyone has any other thoughts while I'm working on that, would be greatly appreciated!

Default Not sure if this additional info helps or not

(couldn't find my fusion d/l and naturally the Parallels install on the macbook has crashed)

anyway..

when driving this morning, the dash showed that the tailgate, and the passenger and rear driver side passenger doors were open. This was without the relay in place, so it may have just been acting weird because of that. Central locking doesn't work either, from the switch inside the car.

Am I barking up the wrong tree with the stalk??

And it appears that the previous owner had someone really hack up the wiring!
