Allroad battery/alternator issues
Can anyone explain to me why it costs $550 to replace a battery.. dealership said just about every electrical system was showing a low voltage fault and they would have to replace the battery and reboot/code all the systems. The quote seems exorbitant to me - battery should be in the $150-$200 range. How much labor should be involved in this process??
I'm also concerned about the alternator. The first error message that showed up was the steering assist was no longer functioning, then an alternator error, then (after turning off all electrical systems I could and frantically headed for home) one by one the airbags, ESP, and all other electrical systems shut down right before it died completely.

It sounds like they are not just replacing your battery (never get a battery from your dealer) but they are also claiming to "reboot/code all the systems". Electrical hourly rates are over $100/hr at most garages.
