Default allroad Nav CDs - new to group

Hello all,

I'm a transfer from the TT group. I sold the TT when I moved to Japan, and just bought an 01 allroad for my return to DC.

It is equipped with the Nav system, but is missing the data CD. I check the NAVTEQ web site, but they only list CDs for 02 and newer. Will these work in my car, or did the system change from 01 to 02?

I've been checking out the forum, and am very distracted by the discussions of retrofitting Nav Plus. Has anyone replace the US nav system with the Nav +?

Default Re: allroad Nav CDs - new to group

The 2001 has the C-Navi system (the one in the middle of the instrument cluster) as opposed to the later systems (not sure when they started) that have a small color map/screen in the middle of the dash/center console.

I believe the C-Navi discs are sold by both Navteq and Continental Imports (Blaupunkt CDs... see link below) with 2004 updates. The only downside is that you have to buy the whole set from them... they don't sell individual discs.

Search the forums for a lot of discussion on this. Good luck. Enjoy the allroad!!

Blaupunkt Navi CDs via Continental Imports

I looked on ebay and was able to get a Nav CD for California and Nevada, so you may have some luck there.

Welcome to the allroad owners community!

Default Navteq has them. I ordered earlier this year for 2001 allroad with C-Navi system.

They don't list on website, so you need to call them. I bought North American (11 disc) set for $319 plus shipping. Individual discs can also be bought from them at something like $130 each.

Default Really odd...after getting a free update CD in 2002 and that's it

out of the blue I get a flyer in the mail from NavTech a couple of weeks ago inquiring if I'm interested in the update pack you described.

As a side note, after almost three years since getting my last one, I received an Audi Magazine in the mail recently as well.

Maybe Audi is trying to improve their image... ;-)

Default you can probably get the CD on ebay....but..

if you have a C-navi system (which is what the 2001 allroad has) ...you might have some trouble. The last C-navi update was back in 2002...which really sucks.

See my picture poster...the Nav+ is a pretty simple install.

Also, I know of one other person that installed a Nav+ when his A6 already had the US spec navi. It wasn't any easier or any harder.

email me if you want my detailed install pix.

Default Navteq advised me the "new" 2004 CDs are identical to my 2002 CDs that came with my late 2003 ar.

They recommended waiting until 2005 to upgrade.

Default not exactly.....the 2004 edition (released on Jan 04) have the RouteUSA option...

basically, you can navigate from Boston to Miami without needing to swap discs, because the entire US highway system is loaded on each disc.

You only need to put in the next disc if you want to get to the street level etc.

The Jan 2004 D-Navi release is current as of June/July 2003. I believe the next D-Navi release will be in July 2005 (so it will be current as of December 2004). Make sense?

FYI - The Touareg map discs will work in your audi as well...as long as you have D-Navi. I've already tested them.

Also, the MB mapdiscs will work in you audi as well (you need to match either C or D navi...or course). But the MB ML class will not work. I've also tested this in my Nav+. Food for thought.

If you search Ebay for a few weeks under "VW" and/or "Audi" and "Nav" or "navigation" and "disc" you will probably get a good list.

Drop me an email if you have any further questions.

Good luck!

If you are looking for the latest release from NavTech, then look no farther. These CD's are the newest out there and the only ones on Ebay! The CD is in perfect working order, I did test it myself already.

NavTech release date is 2/04
Code is W531247001C
