Another question about 2002 model changes
I am struggling between waiting for 02 and buying (leasing?) the 01 while the prices are more "competitive." Dealer (of course) claims no clue about the 02 changes and timing for any such announcements.
I did some research and have been told the following by Audi representatives and wonder if anyone can confirm or offer a reaction:
1) All Audis (not just the A4) have Onstar for the 02 year. I happen to like Onstar alot and would consider waiting for this option.
2) Tire Pressure Monitors will be included (they aren't already?)
3) The switching mechanism on the dashboard for the suspension system will be made more user friendly. Is this a problem?
4) A few new colors...no details.
Any thoughts? Would you wait or pull the trigger during the bargain days of June/July?

Well, then they'll be bringing out the 03 model and that will have ....
It's your choice but waiting for the next one means you never get there !
Haven't heard much on any of these but I don't really see how 3) would change much, it ain't that hard, 2) would be nice, 4) only matters if there isn't a color you like and 1) may be OK but I bet that means you get the analog phone or maybe OnStar runs on digital these days ? What's more they'll probably try and sell you a Suburban over the phone !
I'd just buy now and enjoy the car for an extra 6 months !

Ugh, I'd never buy a car with onstar
Smacks too much of big brother for my liking. Particularly, having someone remotely unlock your car? Just think of the potential abuses of this feature.
I'll stick with a cell phone and keys, thanks (I never actually have locked them in my car - of course, I'll probably do it tomorrow now)

Agreed.
I really don't need that kind of 24 hour help. I can call AAA or Audi Roadside Assistance if I need help. Its a feature that is great for soccer-moms in Minivans or Suburbans. Its a service that if you used it every week would justify the cost but most people that I know aren't that negligent.
