Anyone done the Clear Corner Mod on the Allroad?
I STFA and found lots of results but all for the A6. I was pressed for time but was having trouble getting the lights out. I think there are 2 other bolts holding them in other than the 2 obvious ones on top however I can't find them.
They are probably the same as the A6 but I just wanted to be sure.
TIA

I did this last weekend, here's what I know. . .
I did it on my allroad just last weekend.
It is the same as an A6.
There seems to be a lot of misinformation. Below is a link to the information that is most accurate to removing the headlight housings. To summarize: There are two obvious t30 screws to remove and one less obvious that lies through a hole on the fender flange that secures the base of the headlight housing to the car. Once these three screws are removed the only thing that is left holding the headlight housing in is a plastic peg that protrudes on the radiator side of the headlight housing (lower aspect) that is inserted into a white "guide" This peg is kept in via tension and requires some pressure and manipulation to dislodge. Of course the last item to disconnect will be the wiring harness. In addition removing the plastic cover that provides access to the bulbs will decrease the bulk of the housing and ease removal. Once the housing was removed I used a hairdryer to soften the black "goo" that holds the lens to the black posterior housing. (this requires patience) once the lens is removed removing the yellow lens is self explanatory. The biggest challenge was obtaining the proper extension to get a t30 bit to the elusive third bolt. and even more challenging was getting the third bolt back in. no advice here. its just patience and trial and error. Actually I found that if you creatively manipulate your hand you can reach underneath the headlight and hold the bolt from inside while tightening with the other hand, but unless you have very small hands, count on 3 scrapes on each hand to do this. Well I feel bad for not having documented this in photos but I will hopefully get a final result picture up soon. I wrote this quickly so if I am cryptic please let me know and I would be happy to try and help in any way I can.
Disclaimer : I have halogen headlights ie less bulky housings. I do believe that xenons can also be done in the identical manner but will require a little more manipulation to clear the opening due to the increased bulk of the housing.
P.S. You do not need to remove the bumper to remove the headlights despite the bentley manual and dealer documentation to the contrary.
