Anyone have problems with CD-R Playback ?
So I got a new computer, made my first CD, hit the road in my allroad, and before I was out of the driveway the Stereo Display started flashing "CD ERR".
Anyone able to play "home cooked" CDs in their allroad? Tips?
BTW the cd works fine on a couple of my CD players in the house. Haven't tried it in my wife's Passat yet.
Thanks
Wes

Here is what I suggest - I don't have any problems with playback...
make sure that when you record you use WAV format if you are recording in MP3 or any other format you are likley to have playback issues in certain players. For music that I plan to play in my car and home I always use this format, it sounds better, and my Cd's always play in other players. Give that a try it should work.

Thanks,
I think I did use WAV but I'll check. I'm sure that I didn't use mp3 since my home players don't support that format.
One detail: do you play your cds in the dash or the changer. I use the dash - wife vetoed the changer........

Same problem
I don't have much of a problem in the allroad except for a couple of skipped songs. But the same burned CDs in my A4 gives all kinds of problems. No problems at home. Strange.

No problems
I only save and burn files that are at least 256, and actually have only a few of those. Nearly all are at 320, and also have used 1411. I use Adaptec's "Easy CD Creator." With this combination, I have never had a burned CD that did not play perfectly in either my allroad or my wife's A4. I do notice that the 320 and 1411 tracks sound better with more dynamic range than the 256's.

I've had good luck with...
Kodak CD-R media. The writable side of the disks is a greenish gold. I think they may be a bit more pricey than the no-name CD-Rs, but I haven't had any problem with "duds" or with my burned disks not playing in standard CD audio players.
