Audi 2.7T Owners Manual Engine Oil Recommendations?
Curious as to what current Audi Engine Oil Recommendations for the 2.7T are per recent model year (i.e. 2002, 2003, 2004) Owners Manuals.
My 2001 Audi S4 Avant manual recommends 0W-30, API SJ, ACAE A2 or A3, and alternately 5W-30 and 5W-40.
Curious if Audi currently recommends 0W-40 for these engines as well, and if so as a primary recommendation or as an alternate, and also if the 0W-30 primary recommendation and alternate 5W-30 and 5W-40 recommendations still stand.
Anyone have a current 2002, 2003, or 2004 2.7T Owners Manual handy, or remember off the top of their head? TIA.

API SL, ACEA A3/B3, VW502.00 (I understand) in 0w30, 0w40, 5w30, 5w40 weights.
Oils should have a high HT/HS (ACEA A3/B3), which, say, Mobil1 0w30 & 5w30 (ACEA A5/B5) do not have. Mobil1 0w40, German-made Castrol Syntec 0w30, Amsoil and Redline all are excellent oils available in the USA for the allroad that meet the specs.
I changed to Mobil1 at 5000 miles.

I suggest 5K
The break in oil in your motor needs to get into the seals and set them up (for lack of a better term). Synthetic for some reason doesn't permeate the seals adequately and you can get leaks. At least that's what the Audi service guys say.

Re: When did you introduce Mobil 1, and at what miles, 1K, 5K? I want to do the same but should I
I had my first oil and filter change at around 4K miles. Then @ 10K miles I had another change (the first Audi advantage change) -- oil and filter and I used Mobil1.
So at 15K miles I have had three clean oils introduced, the factory oil, the dealer non-syn oil and now Mobil1. I will be having all subsequent changes both oil and filter and will use from this point forward Mobil1.
My dealer suggested that I change non syn oil and filter every 7,500 miles or syn oil and filter every 10K miles.
