repost....
well, not a repost... but old news posted in a new place.
So... not to be a naysayer, but that Audi decided to go ahead and make the new allroad is old news.
What I REALLY want to know, is - officially - will the allroad come to the US?
Please, Audi... don't keep us in suspense. We're the surprise (and viable) market that welcomed the allroad when you didn't think we would!

How about this:
Motortrend says on sale in US in fall 2006.<ul><li><a href="http://motortrend.com/roadtests/wagon/112_0508_audiallroadconcept/index.html">http://motortrend.com/roadtests/wagon/112_0508_audiallroadconcept/index.html</a</li></ul>

Not to be a dĀ”ck...
...but I would 'really' love to hear it from Audi.
I mean, it makes SENSE...
- the US was a surprise hit market for the current allroad.
- The car was actually introduced in Detroit (odd to show us something we can't have at the premier auto show in the country).
- designed with production in mind from the get-go.
- Wagons are on a popularity comeback (nd it could be argued that SUV fascination isn't quite what it once was)
Some folks argue market confusion with the Q7... Though, if that was a serious case, I would wonder why ANY maufacturer would have a AWD wagon (even a ruggedized one, a la Subaru) and SUV at the same time. Plenty of folks are doing it sucessfully...
Still - why the suspense? All this back and forth... (insider says this, this pub says that...). Maybe it's simply that I want it so badly. As is - the FSI diesel and everything.
Of course, we won't have clean Ultra-low sulfur diesel here in the US untill 07....Hmmn - I smell an engine rollout plan.
C'mon, Audi!
