Bad Microswitch?

When I open my rear passenger door, the interior lights don't come on. I'm guessing there's a bad microswitch somewhere on the door. Anybody familiar with these?

There's a switch on the latch mechanism that goes bad. Some people have success fixing the switch, others just replace the entire latch mechanism. I'm living with mine because I'm too scared to pull the rear lid apart.

I used bad wording...the door I was referring to is the right side rear passenger door...sorry for that.

No worries. I volunteered my info because as I understand it, all 5 doors work the same way, microswitch-wise.

and to my understanding the switch isn't available by itself, at least not from audi and the latch is $160. I've got a right front door doing the same thing. (sticking closed) I cleaned the latch up a bit from the outside and it helped for a month or two but went back to sticking. Living with it.
