Looking to switch tires from my winter Nokian to summer tires on my 2004 Allroad. I don't need super/ ultra hi perf, just something to not wear down my Nokian's this summer and give me better traction without sacrificing ride and noise. I live in southern CT, so I want to switch from now until mid-Nov. I'm looking for 225/55Z(or V)R17. I'm thinking one of the following:

Michelin Pilot Sport PS2
Pirelli P-Zero
Michelin Pilot Exalto PE2
Dunlop SP Sport Maxx
Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3
Kumho Ecsta SPT

Looking for suggestions on these (or others), experience. Important to me is tread life, noise, ride, and handling, in that order.

beaten, don't ask why we never entertained that tire, it achieved great results and ratings across the planet....and I have 4 on order for the allroad:

Federal SS-595 255/50 R17 101V for $97.00 a piece.

I'm running these on my '02 S8. They were on the car when I bought it 2 months ago and at first I was doubtful about the tires (can a good tire be priced this reasonably?). I've put about 4k miles on them and am very pleased. Tread wear seems very good so far, ride and handling are a pleasant surprise, very good in the rain, a little noisy but not too bad.
