Both banks too lean, possible air leak?

Both banks too lean, possible air leak?
I've got a 2003 Allroad 2.7t and the check engine light came on a few days ago. I checked the fault codes with an OBDII scanner and found two faults: PO171 bank 1 too lean & PO174 bank 2 too lean. This morning after starting the car and opening the hood i think i hear an air leak towards the back (near passenger compartment) of the engine. I'm guessing the leak is causing the lean code since too much air is entering, does this seem reasonable? Anyone have suggestions on where to look in the engine compartment and how to go about diagnosing the location of the leak?
