Default Bummed... Need paint advice.

Washed my car this weekend and noticed a nice 6" long scratch mark about 1/2 way up my hood. I think some dumb *** keyed my car. It is deep (I can see and feel it) but luckily not down to the primer/metal.

I am afraid to buff it since it is quite deep and would hate to wear that much material away from the surrounding areas.

Can it be filled with something? Anything a body shop can do short of painting the entire hood? I am pretty sure it is beyond the Zaino scratch/swirlmark remover (which is non-abrassive) but am going to give it a try though.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance for any ideas!

Regards,
Gavin

Default A body shop can do a better job than you can of

buffing it as much as possible and then drawing the paint in, followed by clear coat. That will protect the spot, but it will almost certainly not make it disappear -- only a full paint job will really make it look perfect.
