Default Things in the box?

I snowboard -- binding are just fine in mag-chloride. But I also sometimes haul 3-4 people and 2 dogs up to the mountain. That doesn't leave much room for gear (clothing, boots, etc). That's the gear that goes up top.

Same story for mountain biking in the warmer months, except front wheels, helmets, etc would go up in the cargo box.

If it isn't noisy like the one I currently have, I'd consider leaving it on year round.

Default How does a Thule Atlantis 1200 sound?

82" long would make it 7" shorter than my current one. Also, it is only 3" wider than the Yak Spacebooster. The Evolution 1600 might work too. I'll have to go 'try them on'.

Any idea what the INNO box that allroadCole has costs?

The EVO1600 is the defacto standard but as others have pointed out there are a few options

Default Likewise

I would need longer bars in order to fit 2 bike carriers though.

Ditto, 1600 is the way to go. Still some noise but a great fit and hatch can open...

Default I have the same one that I move from my A4 and Volvo XC70 with

no problems opening the hatch, you will just need to adjust the bars in relation to the box and the roof rails.

Default I just bought a new Yakima to replace the old style....

...and it is the bomb. Drop your old junk on Craigslist and pick up a new yakima box, especially if you want to keep the same key system. My new yak crushes it.... super solid at superlegal speeds.

BTW having the top of your box shatter at negative 5 degrees, full of gear while on a hunting trip, is pretty much the biggest downer ever.
