cargo rack damage

OK, I am an idiot. Drove my turner 5 spot into the garage while still on the roof. Bike seems to be ok, rocky mtn bike tray toast, and the drivers side cargo rack bar that the thule bars attach to rack are bent.
Any way yo fix this without going to dealr. Can i order a new rail (i think the feet are fine) adn install myself?

I don't think you can buy just the bar, I believe it will be the whole left rail >

I would search a bit for a used one. and yes you can DIY if you mechanical enough.

I've been there, ripped my old Cannondale frame in half

Will this work > (for me I doubt it)

You need to remove the interior headliner, unfortunately.

Search for posts by AlexDucati (29984) - he removed his rails and I think he posted some information about how he did it.

There was a set of rails in the classified here about a month back. Not sure if you can >

search old ads. If so and he sold them I am sure he would know how they come off. Installation would most likely be the reverse.

I don't know how to R&R them.

my foolproof method for not destroying my bike/car/garage : (i would forget everytime w/o this)

its hard to see in the pic below, but very hard to miss in real life...

When I'm loading up my bikes, I always tape a piece of orange flagging to the backside/bottom of the garage door.

that way, when I get home I see the flag and the light goes off

when I get out to unload the bike, i remove the flag. I keep the flag by the bike so I do no forget to put the flag up!

sorry to hear. glad my garage is too full of crap to park in.

or else i'm sure that would happen to me.
