Checking Oil
When I check the oil in my 2006 A6 Allroad using the method from the Owners Manual i.e.
1. start the car and let it idle for a few minutes.
2. turn off the car and wait 2 minutes.
3. take the dipstick out and wipe.
4. replace dipstick.
5. take dipstick out and see where the oil is on the dipstick
My oil level is at minimum level. Even if I leave it for 5 minutes it then still stays at the minimum level.
If I leave the car for a few hours or check it after standing overnight I see that the oil level is up to the highest level on the dipstick.
I do not want to overfill the car so what is the correct way to check?
Other fluids should be checked hot and/or with the engine idling after full warmup.
When I check mine from cold the oil level is correct. But when I check it using the audi owner manual method it needs to be filled up so that is why I am confused.
Is there a way to check the oil level through the MMI?
