Creaking Noise when Turning Right at Low Speed

I noticed this intermittently a couple of months back but didn't think too much about it. The car was serviced last month (42k) and they found a ball joint problem which was replaced under warranty. I assumed that this was the cause of the problem as I hadn't noticed any other symptoms.

However, the noise is now back and happens when turning right at low speeds. It sounds like a creak and isn't the usual power steering noise you get on full lock.

Has anyone else experienced this?

A possible answer to creaking noises in the AR suspension

I experienced the same sort of creaking on my 2001 AR. After several failed attempts to get the problem resolved via my AA warranty at dealer number one (they claimed that they couldn't find anything wrong, and pretended not to hear the noise), I went to a second dealer. They said that they couldn't find anything broken, but they did find dirty and dry bushings that relate to the suspension (sorry...repair order is at home; hence my vagueness). They also said that these bushings were dirty and dry due to excessive water getting into them from all of the bad weather we usually get in the NE during the winter. Anyway, the service tech lubed all of the bushings under the car, and I haven't heard the noise since then.

If anyone needs more detail, let me know, and I will post the information from my repair order.

I hope it's as simple as this - I'd be annoyed if it was major and not picked up at a recent service

Mine occurred on right turns (Fwd + Rev), and just when coming to a stop.

Details re: fixing the creaking noise (notes from repair invoice)

Here is what the dealer wrote on my repair invoice:

"Customer states when turning wheel to the right or left, gets a loud noise and feels like locking up"
"Cleaned and lubed"
"Road tested, confirmed cust complain, noise from front susp. checked found front sway bar bushing very dry and noisy. Removed lubed bushings, road tested no more noise from susp."

Thanks to Audi of Nashua (NH) for getting the problem description right, and more importantly, for resolving it to my satisfaction on the first try. FYI, this was my first experience with them, and they went 2 for 3. They found and resolved my air suspension problem (corroded wiring at one sensor), but didn't fix my driver's side rearview mirror double vision problem ("Working to designed intent"). Double vision is by design? Hmmm.
