Default Did custom "Darintake" style intake today and descreened MAF

Car was messed up before due to bad vac hose so my frame of reference to judge performance gain is off. It does pull like a pit bull on crack, but that's just the allroad way. Others have measured modest air flow gains via MAF readings by doing same intake. Throttle response feels really good right now. I might post pics later.

Default I did the Darintake as well and throttle response seemed quicker and less turbo lag .

Free mods rule! I should have logged MAF numbers but I didn't have a Vag at the time.

Default So you have the S-Flo with a Darintake hole, right? I did a S-flo like custom intake with K&N

cone and a custom bent 3" tube from a local muffler shop. Basically the same thing.

Just so I have the lingo right: Is the Darintake just the hole or the hole with the DIY cone-in-box intake?

Default Re: Darin was the guys name that did the VAGs and was the first to do the mod.

From what I've gathered...

Default Now that's a good Jeopardy Question..

Ken Jennings would have been off at $30,000.00 if this came up.

Default I would leave the screen in actually the hitachi screen is not doing any damage.

The hole in the airbox is a good to do

Default With just the hole in the S4, you gain 5g/s that equates to 5hp

We don't feel the ITG filter is really all that. Some have had better results with even larger K&N cone filters (and since the allroad airbox is larger you can probably fit a larger filter in place.

However if you are going to actually offroad your allroad, then cutting a hole into the bottom of your airbox may not be the greatest idea.

Default I got about as much K&N as possible in there. I got one with the "X Stream" flow top.

part rx4990 I think, but going from memory.
