ar >>>>>>>>> A4...
As Ferris Bueller once observed: "if you have the means I strongly suggest picking one up"...
You just can't beat a 2.5 ton sports car with quattro drive and more room than most SUVs.
The new ar is certainly coming (it's all over the magazines here in Portugal), but you always know nothing until you've driven it. I shudder when I hear about the problems my brother-in-law has with his Touareg, an R5 bought in the first model year. You take a chance when you buy the first model year, I suppose.
If I were you, I'd wait. If you're happy with the A4 for a couple more years, hang in there are try out the new ar.
With a pedigree like the current ar, I'd be very optimistic.

How much money you got?
I can't afford a new car that often but I do love cars. I'd wait for the next generation allroad and enjoy the new car joy of new technology and design. Then keep the new allroad for a long time. Mod from time to time to keep it "fresh". If you have to have a stick then the answer is buy now.
I assume if you buy now then you wouldn't buy the new allroad later? If you have the money you could buy a preowned allroad now and trade it in on a new allroad later.

Re: dilemma
thank you for all the replies. I should have preferaced that our other car is a Nissan Armada LE. Would love to wait for the next AR, however, no stick is an issue for me. How about the new A6 Avant in stick??? would give us a bit more room than the A4 for trips when we dont want/need to take the Armada
Thanks again
Thanks again

I went from an S4 to ar...
and I couldn't be happier. The descision was based on lifestyle changes though, and I don't mean children. Camping, Geocaching, hiking and driving 2 dogs to the lake every weekend ruled out the S4. I love the ar I have and will not feel the need for the new model until I have run this one into the ground. The current model is really a great car. I can't speak for the new model other than it looks a little too fancy to me. Personal aesthetics.

After careful thought I have the following proposals for you to choose from:
1. buy five new cars
1. ferrari enzo
2. subaru outback
3. used R32
4. cls55
5. F150 pickup
2. sell all your cars and divest yourself of all material possessions
3. Eat more ruffage
4. Wear sunscreen
5. expect silly answers to silly questions

very cool, what year do you have. I've recvd some car faxes on a few preowned (01-02's) but all have seemd to have electrial issues. May look at 03-05 models
