Going to borrow a hoist tomorrow and then probably yank the mill this weekend.

Be careful with the banjo bolts when you reassemble. They strip and snap easily!
Save yourself some hassle later and replace the VVT adjuster and VC gaskets while it's out. If you have one, the suction valve is another. And look VERY closely at all the Vacuum lines in the back of the engine. If cost is no object replace EGT sensors. MUCH easier with engine out.

My brother, a friend, and I lifted a 455 Pontiac motor out of firebird into the bed of his friends
pickup truck with a couple of pieces of chain, and a steel bar when we were younger.

455's are one big piece of iron. On that same idea I had a 1966 Ford Fairlane and bought a used 200cid engine from my buddy. The engine was in his walk out basement. I drive up in a borrowed pickup and thinking this is going to be tough to get in the truck. Next thing I know he picks up the engine carries it to the pickup and drops it in the bed.
