I just replaced my passenger cv axle, did an oil change, and also sprayed my door hinges with silicon lubricant.

When I finished up I noticed that the door ajar symbols are not showing up on the instrument cluster. Also the headlight on buzzer is not working.

However the seat belt chime is working and the interior lights work on all doors when opened.

Thoughts? I think I may have sprayed a switch somewhere with wd-40?

So this has nothing to do with the headlights. The instrument cluster knows the headlights are on. It is just that the cluster does not know when the doors are opening. Everything else appears to be functioning as normal.

Anyone? The interior lights come on when you open the drivers door however the instrument cluster is not recognizing this. I have read about the microswitch but those threads seem to talk about it not signaling the door is closed. This is a lack of communication between drivers door and instrument cluster.

go get a vagcom scan done
there might be an error code for this
then report back

I have a vagcom, how would I scan for this?
