engine removal guide
hi guys!
as some of u know my turbos are going so it has come to that time....
i have decided to remove the engine myself (as i do not trust our local mechanics....) and install k04s
does anyone know where i can get a guide how to remove the engine/ do's and dont's?
also : i am going to install rs6 turbos as thats all i could get here in sa. i know that the flanges are different but besides that, what other difficulties/problesm could i run into?
thanks in advance

the b5 s4 folks have done many write ups on engine pulls...
it should all be in the tech article section. Do a search and you should find something. I used 3 different articles when I pulled my engine.

Ach! A big x2... I just paid a shop $250 to do this for me today.
There are other issues that are really chapping my *** right now about my car, but for starters, having some old wastegate lines were the start of my troubles.
Best,
Bob

Re: My notes:
thanks guys, this should help . it does not look like a difficult task at all.
so i got the turbos, getting a new stage 3 clutch from the usa and what else should i think of?
hoses of course.
please tell me if there is any other part should be replaced when engine is out as it might take me a while to source it here.

All kinds of stuff can be done while the engine is out, it's all dependent of your budget...
But to name a few:
DP's or piggies
valve cover gaskets and seals
New EGT sensors big$$$$ though
upgrade to a HD clutch slave cylinder
Someone had a lightweight steel flywheel
Timing belt
Oil lines
Samco or like couplers with T-bolt clamps
Rs4 or ER IC's
Ceramic coated manifolds
The list can seriously go on and on...
