But you might agree that it does make you more visible to other cars
I only intend to use the fogs as DRLs in certain conditions, e.g., blinding sunlight late afternoon (which I just encountered driving west into the sunset). In that respect, they differ from DRLs which are on on the time.

especially if they already have the sun in their eyes. Using the fogs for me is more of an issue at night when they are not needed. If an oncoming vehicle feel that their need for more light on the road is of higher priority than my being able to see anything other than oncoming lights, I usually take the liberty and return the favor and turn on my highs until the vehicle passes.
And don't even get me started on people that don't know when to use the rear fog light!

What about OEM DRLs? Then you qualify for discount on insurance....
I'm sure VAG already has this built in somewhere/somehow so that they can sell in markets where the DRLs are required. Why not look into doing an OEM mod for the real DRLs and then you can get a discount on your auto insurance?
