Foot well heat question...
Does anybody else notice heat radiating from the driver side foot well? I think it is originating from the steering column, but I may be wrong.
It seems to be particularly noticable when one or more of the windows are open (the heat just seems to radiate upward).
I am curious if I am missing some sort of insulation near the firewall or something.
Thanks in advance for any ideas/info anybody can provide.
Regards,
Gavin

Haven't heard of this problem and I've been around here for several years...
...but then maybe most people don't have the windows open with the heat on. Looks like this one will take some detective work by a technician.

Re: Foot well heat question...
If you are running your HVAC controls at Auto, then upon opening a window it tries to compensate for the cold air rushing in and overheats the air supplied through the vent system This is what you feel. I usually run my climate control on full "Auto" 70-71C year round and shut it off completely when it is nice outside and windows/sunrof can be opened...

climb under the car and look, there is insulation above downpipes/turbos,no insulation on fire wall
there is a metal shield around turbo/downpipe connection, make sure it's still there
