Default full paint question

-- the more I see the full paint/partial full paint, the more I want to do it. I'm calling partial full paint the cars that have the central part of the main bumpers left in grey. I think I would opt for that.

Anyway the question is do the bumpers/skirts have to come off for the shop to do a good job, or can a good job be done either way? anyone know the general cost range, lately? Thanks...

Default According to my local paint shop....

Bumpers and flares should come off.
Runs $900-$1200 if you just drop the car off. Less if you bring in the flares and bumpers...

Definitely take the pieces off. Also sand them yourself if you want the price to go down even more

Default My thought. You will get much better coverage if the pieces are removed. However

this can also cause a mismatch in color, due to the possiblity of the metallics laying different than it's mating panel. The light can be reflected differently therefore giving an appearance of a color mismatch.
Personally I would take them off.

The previous is obviously not true with solid colors. Best paint I've found for a VAG match is Spies-Hecker.
