Default Got to drive an Allroad as a loaner, all day

Wow, what a car. My '00 A6 Avant had to go in for the factory recall-vacuum line fix-they couldn't get my car finished on Thursday. I walked in to the service office early this AM-one of the service techs handed me the keys to an 02 Allroad with just 36 miles on the ODO. Had to go to Brooklyn from central NJ, so I had the opp. to give this vehicle a really good test drive, today. (what better place to test an offroad vehicle, than Brooklyn streets?) Wow (I said that already?). I drive my Avant in Tip mode, and I consider it fast, regardless of other opinions.
But that turbo boost in the Allroad is quite pleasing to the senses. I love also that two-tone leather interior. The body roll on curves seem to be pretty much the same as my Avant, but the grip felt more sure-presumably due to those huge tires. I am not sure how useful the height adjuster would really be for for real-world applications (and I'd hate to pay for a fix, out of warranty), but it was fun to play with it.
What is the real scoop of opinions here about these 2.7T powerplants. I have seen a lot of maintenance on these boards, and wonder what long-term ownership prospects might be? It's tempting to think about making a trade.

I think the 2.7T is a solid engine, so long as you don't overboost it like the S4 guys... "cough"...

Default that is one point of view I considered

I think there are quite a few out there who abuse their 2.7T's.

Have almost 40k on my 01 Allroad, no problems to report other than the following:

1. On third set of tires/decided to go with the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S, recommend them highly.

2. Couple of factory recalls early, on - front wiper and fuel cells.

3. Brake shield rattle, which was replaced.

Other than that, still love the car, service has been painless and I will stick with Audi for my next car.
