Gripes about the allroad in cold weather.....
2. the ridge alone the A piller is ment to stop water, and air from spilling on to the side windows and making a mess and causing wind noise. Fix: roll down the window and flick it off. or don't run the defrost and let the windshield say cold, snow and ice will not stick them. I know this does not work in wet snow.
3. I spray ski binding sicilone on the wipers. not the cleaning edge. this keep the groves free of water, no water in grove wiper can't freze ridged. Where to get ski binding sicilone? A rep friend gets it for me. check the ski shops in your area.
4. come to Tahoe, we would love to see you.
Thanks for the info. I have a feeling the freezing of most of the moving parts had to do with the fact that I was at lower altitude at night (snow potentially melting), and higher in the day.
The ski binding silicone is a good one. I had no idea that even existed! So you are saying to apply it the "under side" of the blade right? Not the "top side"? I will look into that. Any fix for the unfreezing of the door seals? I guess just spray silicone?
How have the conditions in tahoe been? At dodge, they were quite near the best I have experienced in California. Super dry, fluffy white powder.
I can't believe you were stuck for that long in traffic! Last time I was in South Lake, it took about 4 hours to get from Harrahs to the summit. Chain control, avalanche control, bad drivers, etc...50 is horrible. Granted, that is a little further than your 8 mile trip!
