Has anyone upgraded the fog lights?
My factory fog lights have no value - they are so dim and diffuse that they simply don't illuminate anything useful. Yes, I did have them adjusted up/down, but no improvement. I'm wondering if Audi pulled them from a Pontiac or something.
Has anyone upgraded the bulb/lenses within the factory grill?

I did in my A4. Pretty easy to remove the grill, and the light assembly is very basic...
I changed my bulbs to hyperwhite bulbs, and it made a world of difference. I also rewired the fog lights so they could be operated independantly.
Anyone do that wiht the allroad?

Sure did..., put a set of 75 watt hyper-whites in....
then pulled the switch and jumped it so they act as day time running lights. I know..., some of you are going to quote the Euro regs regarding using your "fog" lights in non-foggy situations. Sorry, we're in America and as long as its not illegal (and its not in MA) I doing it.

Re:I switched to the Sylvania Silverstar better match to the Xenon in color.
Still does help that much. With Xenons there doesn't seem to be much need for the fogs.

http://www.sylvania.com/auto/silverstar.htm</a

Doesn't appear to be...
I've run it in this setup daily for 6 months now with no issues. My shop (Auto Design Haus in Boston) says they do thid on Bimmers, Audis & Benz cars all the time as the stock bulb wattage sucks for anything more then just seeing that they are turned on. The new bulbs also match the color spectrum of the the HID headlights.

I'll post a picture... It was simple. However,
the fogs now come on when you turn on the parking lights. They cannot be turned off independently. This wasn't an issue for me as with Boston traffic I alway drive with my parking lights on.
