HELP !!
Can anyone advise me? As I was driving my Allroad half an hour ago (in full-auto mode), I suddenly heard a "grinding" noise coming out of the gear box. I kept driving and immediately put the gear in "tip" mode at which stage the noise stopped. I have since noticed that when I lock the car via the remote key and activate the alarm the car does not emit the usual "beep". Any advise ???
I have only had this car for two weeks and I sincerely hope I have not bought a "problem" car (it has done 31,000 km)

I had a something like that happen the day befor yesterday. only it was both key remotes failed here at home and in town. I made a trip to the dealer about 45mile from home and, every thing was back in working order. I guessing solar flairs. Also in wet or real cold weather the alarm beeper sometimes beeps some times not and them in between. "Your sure that a friend isnt sticking needles in a model." Voodoo!!!

If you don't hear the 'beep' when locking the car it means the anti-theft isn't setting...
Could be a bad door ajar switch. As for the tranny, that sounds really bad, if you can repeat the symptoms then call the dealer immediately.
