Default help after XMSat install in MY05...

Just installed an OEM XM unit and my SymII H/U recognizes that the satellite unit is connected. However I have no preview or test broadcast sound. I can also access the Sat ID so I know its coneected properly. Do need to access the CanBus? And if so where is it on the AR. I saw the cluster under the passenger footwell, but it looked fuller & different that the one referenced in the Tech section. TIA.

What channel is the test broadcast? You may just need to activate it.

Test channel is always 1 and 0 gives radio ID, I assume if it was an antenna issue you woud get a "no signal" error.
Mine came with the Sat so I am unsure of the install.

I think my issue is incompatible ipod/blitzsafe adapter that was already installed in the allroad when I bought it. H/U shows XM station IDs just no sound. Waiting on radio keys to remove ipod adapter to test sound. Then maybe purchase new blitzsafe unit to allow ipod and xm sound on H/U.
Hence my othe question on the AR forum about connecting both simultaneously.

paul, the station info and song info shows, just no sound. And unit is fully activated. If antenna wasn't connect properly I should so XM broadcast info, correct. Hence my thought about sound/line-in interferance issues between blitzsafe(?) and oem xm even though they have seperate channels on the Sym II h/u.

I think your Ipod adaptor is using the sound leads for the XM, as far s I know you cant use both.
