Help with stereo
I leased a new 2002 allroad ( Black w/platinum sable leather and tiptronic ) about 6 weeks ago. For some inexplicable reason the Bose stereo went out. It will not turn on. The faceplate glows red from the LED and all of the lights from the ancillary switches on the stereo are also on. They do not go off when I turn off the car either.
Anyone else experience this or have any clues of what the problem is? I have an appointment with my Audi service in a few days to have them look at it but I thought this group could help.

Had a problem with my wife's A4's Bose tape unit(out of warranty, btw.) The dealer switched it out with a new one in about 5 minutes and charged me an $80 exchange fee which I think is reasonable for a non-warranty repair.
Especially in contrast with my former '98 Pathfinder. Also out of warranty, the CD died on its Bose unit. The dealer grudgingly said they "might" be able to repair it and it "might" take 6 weeks and "probably" cost $250. For $350 they would exchange it. What a rip!
This was one of many reasons why I eventually dumped the Pathfinder and bought my Allroad. Out of warranty problems with the Pathfinder added up to big bucks. Nothing but routine service with the A4 except for the stereo.<ul><li><a href="http://www.flyingmutts.com">Dogs can fly.</a></li></ul>

Common problem - Easy fix
Many posts on this topic. Find the fuse for the radio, pull it out for 10 second, put it back in, punch in the security code for the radio, as explained in the owners manual, and your radio works again.
