Help Troubleshooting cam timing code
I switched the two sensors to see if the error followed the sensor, it didn't. I did some research and learned that it could be the cam chain tensioner failing. Or oil sludge keeping the oil pressure to low to hydraulically actuate the tensioner. I used some marvels mystery oil as an experiment, and low and behold it was almost entirely fixed temporarily. This led me to believe it was a sludge issue and not a tensioner issue. Over the weekend I did an oil change with good low weight synthetic like my car craves, and used some of this motor flush stuff .
The first night it ran great. Not back to where it should be, but better than it's felt in quite a while. The codes even took longer to come back than they usually did. By the next day it was worse. When I start it up, until it's run for a little bit it won't even move. You can put the pedal to the floor and it doesn't even react till it's been running for a few minutes. But once it's warmed up it runs better than before the oil change. I'm kind of limited on my engine knowledge but it feels like before the oil flush my engine was at a 2/10 on health but got up to a 4 after a bit of driving. Now I'm at 0/10 but get up 7 after driving :P so it's both better and worse but I'm not sure what my next steps should be.
Help me Audi Wan Kenobi, you're my only hope.
