How hard would it be to *neatly* drill into the rear bumper? I've found a
good looking parktronic-like system that even includes the drill bit for installing the sensors. I'm just wondering whether it's feasible to drill into the bumper or if it's going to be a disaster.

Shouldn't be too bad. Tape up the area so it doesn't get damaged. Drill through the tape, and
take your time so the drill bit doesn't heat up and melt the plastic. Make sure to use a sharp drill bit.

You plan on taking the bumper off to do it?
I would so I knew what was behind what I was drilling. I agree with the tape comment. The tape will also stop the drill from slipping on the plastic surface when first strating the hole. Take your time. Plastic of that strength should drill just fine.
I had to do this on the front bumper of my saab when I moved to NJ since a front plate was required and I had never had one mounted since new.

Re: I am very picky and my daily work allows tolerances of .01 and less...
That said,,, if it were me. I would use a laser to line up every sensor location (like I said I am very ****). I would probably not use the supplied drill bit, I would purchase a high quality plastic tip drill bit (the tip is specifically designed for drilling into plastic). You will then need a jobber drill, to drill through the rebar. The diameter should be smaller as not to violate the bumper cover. Make sure you center punch the rebar and drill a pilot hole to keep the FS (full-size) hole from walking. Jon
