I am looking to purchase an Allroad. What items should I exmaine while doing a pre-purchase

Beg/borrow/steal a Vag-Com and do a scan.
Look for oil seepage around cam tensioners, valve covers, and engine/tranny/diff seals.
Others are fairly routine maintenance items - brakes, hoses, filters, etc.
Also look at tires - if Pirelli or Goodyear, plan on replacements.

Check on the Forum near where you live... ask for a good indy shop..
who is trusted by the board people. Have them do a thorough inspection of the car.
What year is the car and miles is the allroad... Private or Dealer? extended Warranty or none?

The car is a private sale out of state. I am in Kentucky. Hadn't planned to have an
independent shop inspect the car, however maybe I should. I own Vag-com so I'll scan for codes. According the owner, the CEL recently came on. Reseating Gas Cap took care of it.
Car is MY 2001 and has 80K miles. 20K extended warranty covering everything but turbos.
