Default Ignition coil question

After doing a bit of research on my Ignition coil problems I am wondering if anyone knows which coil is on the 2003 Allroad? Mine have been replaced twice and when I checked the part # I found that its also for the 1.8 engine.(part # 06B 905-115). My dealer also told me that they started putting this coil on the 2.7 about 6 mos ago. The old part is 058-905-105. Not that cost is a real factor here but the new one (06B***) cost $28 and the old one is $70. Just curious if anyone knows the real story on these ignition coils? I was also told by one dealer that they were recalled on the 2001-2002 models but not 2003. Another dealer told me there has never been a recall.
Any comments would be appreciated

Default COIL PACKS? There is no single coil..like older cars..

It is a combination COIL/Spark Wire assembly. 1 for each cylinder. There was a recall on the Packs for vw/audi1.8T and some in the Audi lines as well.

If they blow.. they will be replaced all under warranty.. and to about 70K miles becaus they are part of the emission system.

Was this post really from 2005? Cuz I am a new owner of an older Audi A4 Q 2001. And I have spent literally 6 hours at DMV. (They are really slow here) Also I don't live near a Dealer. However, yes, there is a service bulletin and DMV references Emission Recall #J1. I can't register car, due to no special orange sticker(CA). Thank you for listing the part number, I was scouring the forum looking for that!! I have updated coils, but looks like I will have to travel to Niello, who tells me that I will have to replace. BS! I have the new part boxes. The old owner changed them himself so All I have is the receipt for parts. Whats another six hours?? At least I will be moving!!
