K04/RS6 project update. I am now the tortoise, but when I'm done I hope to be the hare.
After my neighborhood work party in the morning and after my daughter's lacrosse game and after the emergency trip to work to fix a leaking transducer and after the dog's vet appointment I got some work done on the car yesterday.
At my last update I think I had the turbos and exhaust manifolds mounted. At this point the new feramic clutch with RS4 pressure plate and new throwout bearng is in. The transmission is back on, the ball joint at the shifter linkage into the transmission is rebuilt. New motor and transmission mounts are on (RS4 motor, OEM transmission.)
I also did some work on top of the engine. The new fuel injectors are in and I replaced the cam tensioner seals including half moons as well as the valve cover gaskets. New spark plugs went in at this time as well.
I got distracted at one point by the shiny black bumpers taking up too much space in my garage so I hung the freshly painted rear bumper. I'm pretty sure I am going to like the painted lowers.
So today I should be ready to hoist the engine back in if I can find time. At some point I still have to put in the upgraded fuel pump.
Once I get the motor back in I can get some of the other new parts installed like APR bi-pipe, ASP MAF housing, RS4 air box and accordian, and eventually that freshly paited front bumper.

Are you throwing in a new fuel pump as well and lines or just the injectors?
This could be a slight draw back Mr Rabbit, or will the stock fuel pump create enough pressure to match all other components? With the MAF and injectors you'll most likely create a newly set mixture, I'm just concerned that she might cut out on occasion when you reach higher RPM's and the engine is craving for fuel......just a thought.
VIR is coming soon.......relly like to see this rabbit tearing up the track :-)

Yup. It's even mentioned in the post ;-)
I am doing a comprehensive fueling kit put together by ASP specifically for the turbos I have. I'm not playing the home brew game.

OT a little but did you see ASP is taking deposits on their FMIC?
Just in case you didn't I thought it may interest you.
BTW they only have 50 for sale from the first production run IIRC
