'La Machina' is allegedly coming home tomorrow (with 2 new lungs)........
Well...I said I would keep updated those of you who expressed an interest in my acceleration "whirr sound" turned turbo transplant problem. She's supposed to be ready to come home by 11am tomorrow with 2 brand-spanking new turbos. We shall see. Now - I get to pace the floor and worry all night. <img src="http://e4u.veiozmedia.com/sad/1361.gif">

What is it with the AR and the turbo compressors?
Why did I hear that so many people had problems with the turbo compressors? Is there a problem with a certain year (01, 02 or 03) or simply bad luck?

Turbos? One. But I don't think mine was a failure (essentially).
It was apparently a defect - or so the dealership believes - in the impellor (sp.?) shaft of the passenger's side turbo. I will get the skinny for everybody a little later this afternoon.

Re: Yes, please enlighted us to all the failed turbos you have heard about on allroads?!!?
I was reading AR reviews somewhere and one of the posts was form a person who decided to sell his AR because the dealer didn't want to replace defected turbo compressors. Basically on his post this man said that the AR have serious defects on the turbo. Is this true? Did anybody else have problems with their turbos?

Update: She will not be ready until tomorrow but the diagnosis is in
Forgive me - I am no mechanic and understood only about a tenth of what the service manager told me today so I will refrain from trying to describe what he said the problem was...He is taking pictures (Milpitas) that I will post tomorrow over in Audizine.
