looking for a car top carrier
to take on a cross-country move. We've got two big dogs in the cargo area, a cat and a toddler in the backseat, me and Grandma in the front. I've been looking for a soft carrier, for cost and ease of installation. We don't have crossbars for the roof rack (they're in storage in Washington State, where we are moving back). Anyone with some experience with these out there?

Sounds like your timing is now so this may not help but
I'm holding out to see what LLTek's looks like. They say they're working on one that will match the allroad nicley, but who knows when/if it will be available. I emailed them to find out, but haven't heard back yet...who knows.

http://www.lltek.com/allroad.htm</a

Not holding my breath on the LLTek stuff.
Looks very, very cool, but I talked to them 2 years ago a trailer hitch and they still don't have one listed. Not that I have any problem with them or their products, it's just that I have a different definition of "coming soon" than they do.

Take a look at the Thule Quest softside.
I found it online about 2 weeks after buying some simular stuff from Target. I like the Target stuff (forget the brand) but this looks much cooler and somewhat aerodynamic.
I tried one of the new boxes that a guy at work had. It was the Evo 18 and while I liked it, it simply wasn't my cup of tea. I spent $60 on the set of bags (two bags, one is like a big duffle on wheels and other is just a big square bag). No storage hassles or mounting hassles, either. Roll 'em up and put them in the garage attic 'til next time.

Thule Quest
