Lunchtime Mod ... DVD player added to glovebox ...
I've been hauling around the dvd player in the trunk for awhile, and I happened to have my toolbox in the trunk today too, decided to do a little lunchime modding.
Cut up the Glovebox to make the DVD player fit using a leatherman. Managed to get the thumb a little too. But its finally installed. Will probably finish the wiring to the nav plus on a future lunch break in the next week.

I've been putting off doing my DVD install in glovebox......
I currently have a DVD changer in cargo area but I'm getting tired of guessing which disc is playing for my little ones. How hard would you say it was? What did you do about the glovebox light obstruction? I bought a 1/2 din pyle DVD player so I'm hoping it will be easier than a full din player install.

it's not the height, it's the width....
You need to squeeze the DVD player in between the blower on the right and the aluminum framing on the left.
It was incredibly easy to get the glovebox off. I would recommend removing the two screws on the bottom first and then the three on the top.
I didn't want to move the light switch, so I cut to the closest ridge next to the DVD player. Then I angled the dvd player a bit so that it got by the blower. It works for me and its much less work.
The plastic cut pretty easily with my leatherman. I basically scored out grooves with the knife and then used the mini saw from there. But i did make one bad move and nicked the back of my thumb. I would recommend a dremel or at least some sort of larger saw, but I did this on an impulse at lunch and was able to do all of it within an hour.

Definitely thought about this.
I put it under there and it stays out of site for the most part, but I was just afraid of the thing getting kicked and dirty etc.
I've already had my Ipod Icelink broken twice.
I think its safer to put it into the glovebox, but i didnt realize how small the AR glovebox is until i tried throwing the DVD player in there.
I also thought about the rear armrest, but the emergency kit hole is just a little too small.
