Just came back from Mammoth..
You probably know about the big dump up there. I witnessed 7-8 feet in 36 hours..too much! Mammoth is my #1 despite the drive, followed by occasional Tahoe trips, infrequent Big Bear day trips and trips out of the area. I hit Snowbird 4 weeks ago.

Both
Ski and board(alpine, hardboot setup) Burton Ultraprime and Alp, I love leaving big trenches and layin out turns skiers can only dream of making. Ride/ski at Big Sky mostly, sometimes Bridger Bowl. Lived in Vail 10 years, man I miss carvin at "Da Beav". Grew up in So Cal so Mammoth is an old haunt, might need to get back there this year for some nice spring t-shirt weather skiing.

Mt. Baldy the sand dune?
Ha we have a mt. baldy here in West Michigan, but it's a dune with 282 stairs up it.
Other than down the back side of that when it's snowing, I go to Taos, Sante Fe, Park City, Telluride, Searchmont, Blue Mountain, and so on. I try for a new place as often as I can.

Not much here in Chicago
Heading out to Tahoe for a weekend with the guys the weekend of the 27th, not sure where we're gonna ride. Can't wait, never been out to the sierras during the winter - lived in Stowe Vt for a while, I'm expecting something totally different.

Whitsler ....
I usually ride Whitsler over the weekend for a day trip which is only 1.5hr drive. If the workload is light, sometimes, I hit up the local mountains after work in the afternoon.(30mins) However, this year, the weather has been warm and the local mountains are closed.
I don't miss the Tahoe or Big Bear drive at all when I used to live in N. Cali. Simply because I was younger and capable of doing day trips where it's a 4~5 hr drive one way.
Enjoy the snow.

Re: I attempt to do both, lived in CO in 92 out of college. Tried most
places in CO, but never made it to Steamboat or Aspen. In the past few years I have not made it out at all. The skiis and board are sitting in the attic.

Big East Coast Skier here
Usually Killington, b/c there is not much else within driving distance of NYC, but was at Stratton last week. For any dog Owners, I found a great Family/Pet Friendly Inn to stay at.
