I recently bought a used 2001 audi allroad 2.7, i am trying to figure out what this part is. the picture attached is one from google, my car seems to be missing this I know because there are the cut wires taped and just push to the side. If someone can help please. I circled the part on yellow.

sai pump or for the uninitiated secondary air injection pump
its part of the emissions setup that can be removed if done properly

When they fail it's usually just the bearings, which are a common size and easy and cheap to source and replace.

Thanks for the fast reply! This is actually the first Audi I have own I'm just starting to familiarize my self with this car. I want to understand why they would remove it? Would the engine performance be better if the sai pump was installed back? I also just got a code p1421 would this be the reason why I'm getting this CODE?
