New to AR forum, search unclear...Is the 2.7T discontinued in '04?

From a local Audi dealer's lips. . .
Just in case, I called my dealer -- he is able to order 04 allroads NOW -- either 2.7T's or 4.2's -- you pay your money and you take your choice.
Who or what made you think there would be no more 2.7T allroad?
BTW according to Audi, a 6spd 2.7T is quicker to 100kph (62mph) than an auto 4.2 -- if that kind of thing matters to you.

Heard about a future 3.7 litre 275 HP V8 in the 05 A6 in a previous post
The 330xi goes to the wifey. My turn to drive the truck We're getting rid of her RX300 so I'm looking for an SUV alternative.
My audi background... I had a 01.5 B5 A4 1.8T Tip but didn't care for the B6 3.0 Tip. I prefer slush pumps and the 330xi w/selectronic walked on the A4 3.0 tip IMHO. ('cept it's upside down)
I love the AR because it is so non-SUV and just down right cool. It's just as fun as my 330 and it'll pull class II and carry my pup. Still, I'm conflicted. I hate to buy a lame duck 'cuz I don't keep cars more than a couple of years. I'd take a bath in depreciation like I did with my 01.5 B5 A4. Lease deals are great if you want to go more than 36 months, but I want to buy.
Maybe I should just wait till '05.

If you're only keeping the car short term, definately lease...
Somebody got a money factor of .00025 in the last couple of weeks. It's free money! =) There's no way I'd consider paying tax and interest on the full value of the car - then face uncertain depreciation, if I could pay tax + .6% interest rate on only part of the car's value, then turn it in w/o further loss.
This is, of course, only if you plan to dump the car after 2-4 years. Buying is still good for long term use.

My dealer told me to look for the Pike's Peak --
What I am unclear on is if it is MY 06 which is I believe what he was telling me.
This dealer must have a dozen+ Cayenne's on the lot and says they are "hot."
This same dealer says the allroad would be his personal choice unless he really needed the off road capabilities of the Cayenne which, due to the extra ground clearance, is superior to the allroad's.
But, BTW the dealer went through the allroad off road driving school and claimed that the allroad did virtually everything the Jeep Grand did over the test facility audi had set up in West Virginia or Virginia, I don't recall. He said the Land Rover (the big one) was the best of the bunch and that the allroad bettered the Lexus 330 SUV in his test trial sessions.
Face it, the allroad isn't an SUV per se -- but the allroad seems to suffer most from "no one knowing that it exists."
Say amen.
