Default Newbie: 04 front end rattle/buzz noise

As a newbie, I first wanted to thank this forum for helping me to confidently make my first Audi/Allroad purchase two months ago. I had wanted the car for a long time and spent 6mos. on the hunt. Cheers! I am trying to diagnose a (minor?) rattle/buzz coming from the drivers side of the engine compartment or front end at 1200-1500rpm, and usually just under light acceleration in first gear. It only persists in this rpm range and goes away. It may also be associated with turning the vehicle, but not sure yet. The sound is a bit like the rattle of a fan or belt within a plastic housing. Any thoughts are appreciated.

Default Hard to say from what....

..you describe. Could be a loose heat shield or a CV joint?

My guess is CV joint. Go take the car out in a parking lot and do full lock turns both directions. If the CV joint is going bad it will "click" really bad turning on direction.

Default I know I have a leaky front CV boot on the drivers side...

but the sound is more of a buzz than a "click." I have suspected it could be the heat shield, but am unsure how to remedy as a DIY. This weekend I did feel/hear a bit of a front end "rattle" during my first "test" of the cars' handling at speed. It was a rough road, however, and I was going to focus on that issue next. Sound familiar?

Check heat shields. Mine made a buzzing noise under light acceleration

Default My rattle in the same space was a bad waste gate. Sorry to say that turbo replacement if so.

Easy to find out. I placed a wood stick on the waste gate rod when making the rattle and thereby stopping the noise.
