So did your problem end up being a leaky air spring? I recall you posting a week or two about replacing the module by the compressor and was hoping that would be your fix as my issues are very similar.

I'm starting to think I might be a spring, however, as while I was driving this AM, I saw the L2 button flashing a couple of times before it re-leveled to L2, then dropped to L1 and the warning light came on in the dash. Turned the car off & on, then manually raised to L2 (very quick) then manually to L3 (took about a minute).

I am not sure as to whether this will solve my G291 error code I get with VAGCOM, but it is a start as it might be related. I put the car in manual mode in my driveway and went about 4-5 hours later and saw that my passenger side was lower, so thats where I tested and confirmed that a leak did exist. Once I replace the bag and give it a few nights I will update you. I will also clear my intermittent G291 code with VAG and see if it comes back. I havent checked the wiring to the distribution block to see if one was loose yet though as if this doesnt clear it out then that will be my next step.

FWIW, I just posted a complete working air strut on eBay starting at $0.99 with NO RESERVE! It ends on Sunday at 2PM PST, and I'd really like to see it go to an enthusiast here. Hope it helps someone out on the cheap, also makes a good spare even if you don't have an air ride on the fritz....yet.

Buy it cheap and minimize your down time.

01400 - Suspension Level Control
11-10 - Control Limit Not Reached - Intermittent
01577 - Turn-off due to Over-Temp
35-10 - - - Intermittent
02538 - Function Restriction due to Overload
35-10 - - - Intermittent

This is from my ar scanned in last July.

4 Faults Found:
01400 - Suspension Level Control
11-10 - Control Limit Not Reached - Intermittent
01577 - Turn-Off due to Over-Temp
35-10 - - - Intermittent
01772 - Signal from Level Control Pressure Sensor (G291)
27-10 - Implausible Signal - Intermittent
01575 - Control Switched Off
35-00 - -

So frequently error had occurred around that time.
Problems had been totally solved via lubricating to compressor,
and have not gotten any error for more than 2 month.

Really? No leaks in the shocks? I'll have to see if I can find a write up on how to lube the compressor to try that first before replacing springs.

Did you do the work yourself? If so, please let me know how to do it.

Thanks

Thank you! I'll have to try this. I see that one poster used 10 drops. How much oil did you spray in?

Not so little, after spraying few times, it sounds burble or glug from compressor.
After that suddenly the vacuum power will going up.
So that i sprayed it around 5 times on 1st day.
After 1 week, i tried spraying 5 times again, because ar alarmed error again.
Second week also got very few errors, but obviously reduced, and tried spraying again around 5 times.
After that suddenly alarm had completely stopped.
i had continued to spray it once weekly for 1 month.
But currently i stopped it, because error had been totally stopped,
and compressor sounds like smooth and stable and reduced noise.
Currently guessing once monthly is enough now.
IMO, compressor replacement is definitely not necessary!
Thanks.
