Noticed roof is very dull, how does polish and wax affect this? Also are the body panels heavier...

Can't help with roof, but
I do know that the body panels are heavier -- I seem to remember 20% thicker? In any case, that's what makes it heavier than even an A8L (was it Finman who called it "the fatboy of Audis"?).

I wax the roof on my allroad and like the results
I use One Grand Blitz Wax and it leaves a dull sheen. More important it protects the roof from road salt in winter, UV rays, bird droppings etc. (Works fine on the bumpers and fender flares as well)
