Default OK who is using the GIAC TIP chip?

Can you comment on performance and MPG.
Are you also using it with a ECU chip?
Overall impression would be great.
Thanks

Default Maybe I'm the only one? I've had it so long that I just take it for granted. I do recall being

very happy when I got it done (almost 3 yrs ago). It shifts pretty quick without being jerky. Works well with Giac s-chip.

Default Does it work in D?

when I called GIAC, they told me it only benefits Tip mode shifts. I was looking for an improvement in Drive.

Default I had it

No longer have it due to the fact that it brought back the dreaded 45 mph wobble on my '01 ar. Can't say I miss it all that much. There is an improvement in shift time but not incredible. I got it in tandem with a GIAC ECU chip.

Default It depends on who you want to believe. This is what I know...

When I got the tip chip, I was assured by Tony Ricci, owner of Pes-Tuning, and very good buddy of Garrett Lim(Giac), that it WILL work in D. Now I read posts (maybe yours) that it only works in tip mode-- according to Giac USA. This is pretty hard to argue with.

I don't know. If you ask me, I would swear it speeds up shifts in D.

Default Talked with 2 dealers today and they said the same thing. It is

most noticable in tip mode when driving hard. But also quicker in D.
They recomend it and said it is a must if you also do a engine chip!

I'd probably put it back in if the wobble issue could be resolved

Default '01. The only time I had the wobble was when I had the spare tire on. The entire car shakes @ 60

mph or so. I don't have the optional two-piece wheels, fwiw.

So, it's true and not a figment of my imagination? ;-)
