Default Paging Carson @ Riverside Audi...Pick up the Coil Pack Phone.

So on my way back from Woodburry Common Outlets yesterday. A gentle CEL comes on and stay on for the ride home. This happened while going under cruise at about 70 MPH. No bucking or flashing. I'm thinking O2 sensors (135K).

A quick VAG scan at 11:30 PM shows a misfire in Cyl 5 and the usual O2 codes that accompany a misfire. (at least for me they do.)

Codes cleared and nothing comes back all day today.

So, It a bit of prevention. In the last 3 months' I've replaced two CPs, so a glimmer by the CP angel is telling me to get ready.

Carson? Your price please?

Default

What O2 code do you get? Have you ever replaced your primary O2 sensors?

Default I've cleared it so I don't recall...but I've never replaced any.

I've never had only an 02 code.

Default Coilpacks and spark plugs are not the only thing that can cause a misfire.

If you are getting the internal resistance to high O2 code that means in my experience that the sensor needs to be changed. Bad/dirty fuel injectors can cause misfires too.

It could be the coilpacks, but my allroad is over 6 years old and still on original coilpacks so I don't understand how the coilpacks seem like a consumable part on some peoples allroads?

Default good point...

I'm looking at keeping stock only for prevention.

I truly blew one last month and another one in July. Both were studdering engine and flashing CEL. So I'm thinking another may not be far behind.

The scans at each time the CPs blew also showed a o2 sensor code. But, I've never..ever had a CEL nor a scan showing ONLY an o2 code.
