Default passenger side swimming pool... odor removal?

well,
it was only a matter of time before i racked up another of the most common allroad problems. after a hard rain last week, i thought that my wife had spilled a glass of white wine in the floor of the passenger side (long story). after asking her about it i picked up the all weather mat to dump the "wine" outside. it ended up that the entire passenger side floor board was soaked with water. i searched the archive and noted that this is a frequent problem for the allroad. anyways. the car is going in to the dealer on thursday. now that the floor has dried, it has a really foul odor. any ideas on how to remove it??? thanks in advance. j.

ps. i have now racked up the three-light syndrome (brake light switch), crooked steering wheel (bad tie rod ends coupled with terrible alignment), and driver's side window coming out of the guide. glad to be CPO'd. i'm thinking the shimmy should start soon

steam clean it first, then use some pet stain and odor removal...works wonders.

Default Was the problem the spacer block gap on the windshield, the A/C evap drain, or the sunroof drain?

Or the cowl/firewall drain under the battery?

Sounds silly but dryer sheets left on the floor there for a day or two will help too, once it is dry

Default Used the pet stain stuff on my brother's car...both nephews vomited at the same time on

his road trip here (Denver) from Tucson. When they got here, even after cleaning the car seats, seats and carpets on the road, the car smelled like something died. Hooked up the steam cleaner, 20 minutes of steaming and a spray with the pet odor stuff, and the car was as good as new.

That does work, but only covers it up, does not eliminate the smell...

Default That's what I meant by dry...after you have removed any odor causing agents...mold, etc..I was

only speaking to the remaining odor that is left after some vacuum products are used, but your testimonial, gross as it sounds, above sounds like the first course of action.
