Phatnoise Cheap!

It's not a straight plug-n-play, but you should be able to get it to work...
The radios use the same protocol, but the cable connectors may be different...
I may order one and try to get it to work

Can't find any ratings for either site at epinions.com or resellerratings.com
Have you dealt with either of these sites with favourable results?
I remember reading an install writeup here and If my memory serves me right it wasn't a straight screw in job. The cd changer bracket did not fit the phatnoise box. Any one already install this? I don't feel like searching as search doesn't find my own posts when I search for my id.
This looks very good as I was considering the icelink/ipod route but this would hold more than enough music for me.

you need Part#000-051-592A if you buy a volkwagen phatnoise. $50 adapter,don't need mounting bracket

You will also likely need the CD changer cable if...
you have a 2002 or newer. I believe since the Symp II has the CD Changer in the dash it doesn't have the CD changer cable pre-wired. Thats $100.
