Pretty disappointed with the wear on Falken 452's...thoughts/experiences?

Not the best experience with 452's.... sorry, my confusion, I had 512
On the allroad at 5k miles they were at 6-7/32".
On the passat I replaced them due to a bump on the side at about 8k, they were at 4-5/32".
The only good thing is that they came with 30k miles warranty.

Sounds silly but my Hankook Icebears (kept on all summer) were great for
basic off roading...have never done sand, but I would bet if they handle snow/ice/gravel/dirt and really lousy roads they would do that too...they sing on the highway and they aren't performance tires by any stretch, but they were inexpensive and they have worn like iron...I am at about 35k on these and they still have great tread wear left...another cheap tire I had good luck with was the Republic Enterprise, but it doesn't have as good of tread so it wasn't as capable in the snow/ice as these...it gives my ar a little bit of an off road look with these tires and I like it...I kept seeing all these big honking SUV's with their deep tire tread, even in the summer and figured it would be worth a try....I have really been impressed. We get very wide temp swings here..-30 in winter to 100 in the summer and these work at both ends of that spectrum.

Thanks...looking for options that will work everyday, and the ocassional beach outing...
I was leaning towards some nokians (not sure which ones)...I'll do some research on these as well
Thanks
Geoff
